Binance, the leading cryptocurrency exchange, has announced plans to delist 22 tokens for its Brazilian customers. Effective October 27, trading services for tokens such as Verge (XVG), Ethena USDe (USDE), TerraClassicUSD (USTC), and others will be halted. The affected tokens also include Decred (DCR), Dusk (DUSK), PIVX (PIVX), MANTRA, Harmony (ONE), Ravencoin (RVN), Zilliqa (ZIL), and Secret (SCRT), among others.
Despite the delistings, Brazilian users will still be able to trade these tokens until October 27. After this date, balances will remain in their accounts, and users can withdraw and reinvest in the delisted tokens. The restrictions apply only to Brazilian users, not global Binance customers.
In addition to the delistings, Binance will restrict access to eight products and services in Brazil, effective October 27. These include Binance Loans, Binance Pool, Cloud Mining, margin trading, Launchpool, Megadrop, HODLer Airdrops, and Alpha 2.0. Existing loans will be switched to a repayment-only status, allowing clients to pay off their outstanding debts.
Furthermore, Binance is set to migrate Brazilian customers to local entities created by the company's group, effective October 29. These changes follow recent compliance measures introduced by Binance for international crypto transfers for Brazilian customers. Starting November 1, users will need to share information about the purpose and counterparties for their international transfers.
