Binance Dominates Bitcoin Futures Market as Max Pain Targets $80K
The Bitcoin futures market is experiencing a surge in activity, with Binance dominating the largest share of open interest. According to Coinglass.com, Binance controls over $9.6 billion worth of contracts, followed by CME at $6.66 billion and MEXC at $6.12 billion.
CME's significant jump in futures open interest from 102,840 BTC to a total value of $6.66 billion has been attributed to institutional capital, as CME is the preferred venue for regulated U.S. exchanges. This comes after a collapse in futures open interest from around $90 billion last September and October to roughly $43 billion by June.
The three-month annualized basis across Binance, Deribit, and OKX has climbed to 4.3%, indicating improved confidence among traders without reaching overheated double-digit levels seen during bull markets.
