Binance Doubles Down on USDC with $100 Million Circle Investment
Binance has invested $100 million in Circle Internet Group (CRCL), purchasing newly issued shares of the company's Class A stock at a discount. The investment is part of a five-year agreement that requires Binance to promote the USDC stablecoin across its global platform.
The deal deepens the relationship between the two companies, which have been working together since 2024. Under the new arrangement, Circle will pay Binance a monthly incentive fee based on the amount of USDC held through Circle's Modular Smart Contract Wallet infrastructure.
Binance co-CEO Richard Teng framed the investment as a long-term commitment to build a more inclusive digital economy. He emphasized that a stable and trusted digital dollar should be available to anyone with a phone, regardless of their location.
