Binance Expands Thai Fiat Trading Pairs and Tokenized Stock Collateral

Binance continues to expand its trading ecosystem by introducing new Thai baht (THB) spot trading pairs for major digital assets, including XRP, Solana (SOL), Ethereum (ETH), and BNB. This move allows traders in Thailand to access these cryptocurrencies directly without first converting THB into stablecoins or other intermediary assets.

The addition of direct fiat trading is expected to reduce conversion costs and transaction friction for users in Thailand while improving liquidity for major cryptocurrencies. XRP's inclusion is particularly relevant to the Asian payments market, where Ripple has pursued opportunities involving cross-border transactions and financial institutions.

Binance is also strengthening connections between cryptocurrency markets and traditional finance by allowing tokenized stock collateral on its margin trading platform. Starting September 16, users with VIP 3 status or higher can use two bStocks tokens as collateral: tokenized Reddit shares (RDDTB) and GoPro shares (GPROB). These tokenized equities are issued within the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) jurisdiction.

However, Binance is also removing several markets with insufficient trading activity. The exchange will discontinue four USDC spot trading pairs at 03:00 UTC on September 18 for Quant (QNT), Brevis (BREV), CookieDAO (COOKIE), and Lagrange (LA). This delisting applies only to the affected USDC pairs, meaning the tokens will remain available through other supported spot trading pairs on Binance.

Binance has advised users operating bots or maintaining active orders on the affected pairs to update or cancel their positions before the September 18 deadline. The exchange's decision to remove these markets may be seen as a response to low liquidity, but it remains to be seen how this will impact trading activity and user experience.
