Binance Expands Trading Hours with Launch of Foreign Exchange Perpetual Futures
Binance has expanded its offerings to include Foreign Exchange (FX) perpetual futures, allowing users to trade USDT-settled contracts 24/7. The first FX perpetual contract, USDBRLUSDT, will go live on September 21, 2026 at 14:00 UTC.
According to Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange and Trading at Binance, 'FX is one of the world's most foundational markets, traded every moment to hedge and express macro views.' He noted that with Binance's deep liquidity and global user base, they are well-positioned to extend continuous price discovery into the gaps that traditional FX cannot cover.
The new TradFi Perpetual product category will feature dual-mode pricing to maintain fair and orderly markets when traditional FX liquidity thins on weekends. This framework applies a weighted average of constituent prices from third-party data vendors during regular trading hours, and an exponentially weighted moving average of orderbook prices during weekends and public holidays.
Binance has already seen success with its TradFi-linked perps, which have become primary venues for weekend price discovery. In April 2026, Binance's gold perpetuals exhibited institutional-grade weekend price discovery, correctly predicting the direction of Monday's opening gap approximately 89% of the time.
