Binance is facing yet another compliance issue in the US, as federal prosecutors investigate whether the exchange violated Iran-related sanctions.

The investigation, which was first reported by Bloomberg and confirmed by Reuters, follows a separate $61 million crypto forfeiture case involving funds allegedly linked to Iranian oil sales and Binance accounts.

Binance has faced significant enforcement actions in the US before, including a 2023 DOJ resolution exceeding $4 billion, a CFTC settlement, and an SEC lawsuit that was later dismissed in 2025.

The exchange's CEO, Richard Teng, stated that there was no 'misconduct' on its platform and that Binance had fully cooperated with authorities.
