Binance Faces New Probe Over Iran Sanctions Compliance
The US Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating Binance for potentially violating sanctions related to Iran, adding another compliance issue to the exchange's long history with US authorities.
This latest probe follows a separate $61 million crypto forfeiture case involving funds allegedly linked to Iranian oil sales and Binance accounts.
Binance has faced significant enforcement actions in the US before, including a 2023 DOJ resolution exceeding $4 billion, a CFTC settlement, and an SEC lawsuit that was later dismissed in 2025.
