Binance Helps India Track $24M in Illicit Crypto Transactions
Binance has assisted Indian authorities in tracing $24 million in alleged illicit crypto transactions. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), India's financial-crime agency, has been working closely with exchanges like Binance to tackle misuse of virtual digital assets.
The ED initiated investigations into cross-border crypto transactions worth ₹2,500 crore (approximately $300 million) in June 2026, involving unauthorized use of virtual digital assets. Binance's compliance tools and law-enforcement support have become critical in such probes.
Binance has invested heavily in user protection and fraud prevention, with an annual budget of $300 million. Its systems intercepted $10.53 billion in fraud and helped recover $8.2 billion in user assets between 2021 and mid-2026.
