Binance has invested $100 million in Circle, a move that will give its USDC stablecoin more prominent placement on Binance's platform.

The partnership was announced as part of a five-year agreement between the two companies. In return for being featured prominently on Binance's platform, Circle will pay Binance a monthly incentive fee tied to how much USDC users hold on the exchange.

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire stated that 'Binance has built one of the largest and most dynamic platforms in the world for using digital currency... We see incredible opportunities to leverage USDC to expand dollar access, support savings and investment with innovative digital asset products and reach people and businesses throughout global emerging markets.'

The deal closely ties Binance's financial stake to USDC's growth. Binance will hold Circle stock worth $100 million at $80.84 per share for up to two years, subject to transfer restrictions.
