Binance Invests $100 Million in Circle Internet Group
Circle Internet Group has strengthened its partnership with Binance through a $100 million investment and a new five-year commercial agreement. As part of this deal, Circle will support the promotion and integration of USDC across Binance's platform.
The new agreement supersedes earlier arrangements from November 2024 and August 2025 and can be terminated early under specified circumstances. In addition to expanding USDC access, Circle co-founder Jeremy Allaire said this partnership could broaden USDC access across emerging markets.
Binance bought 1.237 million Class A shares in Circle at $80.84 apiece through a private placement. This represents a discount to the market price before closing and includes a two-year transfer restriction, with customary exceptions. Binance co-CEO Richard Teng stated that their investment and commitment represent long-duration conviction.
