Binance Invests $100 Million in Circle to Bolster USDC Ties
Binance has invested $100 million in Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, as part of an expanded five-year agreement to promote USDC on the exchange.
The deal involves a private placement where Binance purchased 1,237,011 shares of Circle's Class A common stock at $80.84 per share on September 17.
This purchase price represents a discount to Circle's market price before the transaction closed. The agreement replaces previous deals between the companies, which expired in November 2024 and August 2025.
Circle will pay Binance a monthly incentive fee based on the amount of USDC held through its Modular Smart Contract Wallet infrastructure.
