Binance Invests $100M in Circle, Expands Global USDC Reach
Binance has invested $100 million in Circle Internet Group and signed a new five-year commercial agreement. This deal expands USDC distribution globally, creating a direct equity link between the two companies.
The investment comes with transfer restrictions that will prevent Binance from selling or transferring these shares for two years unless otherwise stipulated in termination events. Voting rights associated with these shares will remain with Binance during this restricted period.
The deal replaces previous agreements made in November 2024 and August 2025, which involved monthly incentive fees based on USDC balances held via Circle's Modular Smart Contract Wallet infrastructure.
