Binance Invests $100M in Circle for Expanded USDC Reach
Binance has taken a significant step in expanding its reach by investing $100 million in Circle, the company behind the USDC stablecoin. This move is part of a new five-year commercial partnership between the two companies.
The deal includes a private placement where Binance bought 1.24 million Class A shares at $80.84 each, which is a discount to Circle's market price before the transaction closed. The shares were sold in an unregistered private placement, limiting Binance's ability to resell them for up to two years.
Circle will pay Binance a monthly incentive fee based on USDC held through its wallet infrastructure. In return, Binance has agreed to carry out promotional activities for USDC on its platform. The deal replaces earlier agreements made in November 2024 and August 2025.
