Binance Invests $100M in Circle to Boost USDC Adoption
Binance has taken a significant stake in Circle, the company behind the popular USDC stablecoin. The investment totals $100 million and was made through a private placement of Class A common shares at $80.84 each.
The deal includes an expanded five-year commercial agreement between Binance and Circle that replaces prior arrangements from November 2024 and August 2025.
Circle will pay Binance a monthly incentive fee calculated as a percentage of USDC held through its Modular Smart Contract Wallet, an infrastructure service that lets platforms embed USDC wallet functionality.
Binance has committed to additional promotional activity for USDC across its exchange in exchange for the fee. The agreement includes early-termination provisions for either party under specified circumstances.
