Binance Launches Continuous USD/BRL Perpetual Futures with 100x Leverage
Binance continues to expand its offerings into traditional financial instruments by introducing a perpetual futures contract tied to the US dollar and Brazilian real. The new product, set to launch on September 21, will allow traders to participate in continuous pricing of the USD/BRL currency pair.
The contract will be settled in Tether's USDT stablecoin and provide leverage options reaching up to 100x. This means that market participants can manage positions valued at up to one hundred times their posted collateral. The perpetual futures contract also lacks predetermined expiration dates, allowing traders to maintain positions indefinitely as long as they satisfy margin obligations and funding rate payments.
The platform's dual pricing framework will enable the contract to function during traditional market closures, including weekends and holidays. During standard FX operating hours, the reference price will be determined by a weighted selection of external market providers. When these markets are closed, prices will be based on transaction data from Binance's internal orderbook using an exponentially weighted moving average.
This move builds upon Binance's previous introduction of perpetual futures derived from traditional securities and marks another step in its push into conventional financial instruments.
