Binance Launches India Education Programme Amid Growing Crypto Adoption
Binance has launched a new education programme in India, dubbed 'Academania Skill-Up', in an effort to help first-time users better understand blockchain and digital assets. The programme is part of Binance's wider education efforts in India, which include Binance Academy, Binance Blockchain Yatra, and the Binance Case Challenge.
The six-month campaign will offer free, self-paced Binance Academy courses to users across South Asia. Participants who complete the monthly course and meet the programme requirements can enter a draw for rewards. The first edition focuses on blockchain basics, DeFi, Web3, and trading concepts, while the second edition will focus on AI-related topics through the 'AI Unlocked: Agents and Skills' course.
According to Binance, India ranks sixth globally in grassroots crypto adoption and second in transaction volume, citing Chainalysis' 2026 Global Crypto Adoption Index. The company said the growth in adoption has highlighted the need for greater awareness around issues such as wallet security, scams, and blockchain fundamentals.
SB Seker, Head of APAC at Binance, emphasized the importance of education in the crypto space, stating, 'The gap today isn't access, it's understanding. For someone starting out, a two-hour course can mean the difference between recognizing a scam and losing savings.'
