Binance Lists BYD and Lenovo Contracts as Crypto Derivatives Market Expands
Crypto trading platforms continue to expand their offerings, and Binance is no exception. The exchange has announced that it will list perpetual contracts tied to BYD and Lenovo on its Contracts platform.
The two listings are scheduled for September 7, with the BYD contract launching at 10:00 AM and the Lenovo contract following at 10:05 AM East 8 time. The contracts will be USDT-margined, meaning that users will need to hold USDT in their accounts to trade them.
The distinction between a perpetual contract and a traditional share is an important one. A perpetual contract gives market exposure through a derivative, but it does not grant the trader ownership of the underlying company's stock. This means that the value of the contract can differ from the cash equity market in terms of margin rules, funding payments, and liquidation processes.
Binance's notice emphasizes that product availability may depend on location, and that the listing is general information rather than a guarantee that every customer can use the contracts.
