Ripple Shifts $1.36M in RLUSD Stablecoins to Ethereum Blockchain
Ripple has transferred over 1.36 million RLUSD stablecoins from the XRP Ledger to the Ethereum blockchain, according to recent onchain data.
This movement has drawn attention within the crypto community and signals a potential liquidity shift for RLUSD, which is Ripple's dollar-pegged stablecoin introduced to support cross-chain transactions.
The transfer consisted of token burn and mint events. On September 6, a total of 1,363,614.85 RLUSD was removed from circulation on the XRP Ledger and sent to a wallet from which recovery is impossible, a standard method for burning assets in decentralized networks.
Within seconds of the burn transaction, an identical amount of RLUSD was minted on the Ethereum blockchain. This rapid coordination of activity points to Ripple orchestrating the migration, likely as the official issuer of RLUSD.
