Binance Lists Hyperliquid After Delay, Citing Past Token Distribution and Asset Custody

Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, recently listed the altcoin Hyperliquid (HYPE) after a delay. In an explanation, Binance founder CZ stated that HYPE's past token distribution and asset custody structure were factors in the delay of its listing on the Binance spot market.

CZ noted that at the time, HYPE's distribution and custody arrangements did not meet Binance's risk management requirements for listings. However, he also mentioned that conditions may have changed, suggesting that the previous absence from the Binance spot market was not solely due to listing requests or market conditions.

The listing of HYPE on Binance comes after US President Donald Trump stated in August that SEC Chairman Paul Atkins was working to bring Hyperliquid to the US market.
