Binance has announced plans to restructure its account system by moving users' non-stock cryptocurrency holdings from Funding Accounts to Spot Accounts. This change is part of a larger effort to simplify user account structures and improve asset management.

The exchange will begin disabling on-chain deposits to Funding Accounts on September 29, 2026. Users can move their holdings manually using the 'One-Click Migration' feature in the latest Binance app. Those who do not complete the transfer will have their assets moved automatically in batches starting in January 2027.

The process is intended to support Binance's recent expansion into stock-related products, including physically settled U.S. stock options launched on September 1. The Funding Account will be renamed the Stocks Account in January 2027 and will support stock and stock-options trading plus six settlement assets.
