Binance Pay has partnered with TBCASoft's HIVEX network to enable USDT spending at millions of PayPay-supported merchant locations in Japan. This integration allows eligible overseas users to pay with USDT, which is converted to Japanese yen before reaching the store's register.

The system supports both customer-presented and merchant-presented QR code formats, making it seamless for merchants to accept digital asset payments without any technical changes or new sign-ups required. Binance Pay handles user-side obligations such as KYC verification and sanctions screening, while HIVEX and its local partners manage merchant-side regulatory requirements.

This initiative expands Binance's existing footprint in Japan's financial ecosystem, where fiat deposit and withdrawal services through Japanese payment channels have been available since 2025. The initial rollout targets Q3 2026, with the potential to dramatically increase the pool of people who can spend USDT at Japanese shops.
