Binance Pay Expands to Japanese Merchants, KDDI Launches Cryptocurrency Wallet

Binance Pay has announced that it will support cryptocurrency payments for international tourists at merchants affiliated with PayPay, Japan's largest mobile payment service.

KDDI, one of Japan's major telecommunications companies, and other firms have launched a digital wallet on their au PAY platform, allowing users to store cryptocurrencies such as JPYC (JPY Coin) worth $0.01 each. The wallet is accessible using Ponta points earned through various services.

A group of six banks, including three major Japanese megabanks, will begin testing the use of stablecoins for trade settlements with support from Japan's Financial Services Agency.
