Binance Puts $100M Behind USDC Expansion in Emerging Markets
Binance and Circle have signed a five-year agreement to expand USDC adoption. The partnership includes Binance investing $100 million in Circle by purchasing 1.24 million Class A shares at $80.84 each.
Under the new deal, Circle will pay Binance monthly incentive fees tied to USDC held through its wallet infrastructure. The companies aim to increase USDC access, particularly in emerging markets.
Binance co-CEO Richard Teng described the investment and agreement as a five-year commitment involving Circle. He referenced USDC, Circle's Arc network, and infrastructure for moving value across borders.
