Binance Rethinks Account Structure: Funding Closes to Deposits, Pay & Convert Shift

Binance has implemented significant changes to its account structure, affecting how users deposit and store cryptocurrencies. As of September 29th, Funding Accounts can no longer accept direct on-chain crypto deposits, forcing users to switch to Spot for these transactions.

The change also impacts Binance Pay receipts and Convert order settlements, which will now be processed in the Spot account. Existing Funding balances are being migrated separately, with a new Stocks Account set to replace Funding in January 2027.

Users relying on recurring Pay sends from Funding will need to transition to another payment source, as these plans will cease when Binance removes Funding as a Pay source. API users must update account references to Spot, and P2P users will see changes in their buy and sell orders after updating the app.
