Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, is planning its potential return to the UK market. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has announced that it will start receiving applications for a new crypto regulatory framework on September 30, 2026.

This development comes after Binance Markets Limited faced restrictions in the UK five years ago, with the FCA warning the company that it could not conduct regulated activities. However, under the upcoming framework, Binance can now seek authorization to operate in the country.

The new regime is set to take effect on October 25, 2027, and will require platforms carrying out regulated cryptoasset activities to obtain FCA authorization. To do so, applicants must demonstrate that their business model is suitable for the proposed activities, maintain adequate financial and operational resources, and adhere to various requirements.
