Binance Seeks UK Crypto License Amid Regulatory Hurdles

Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, is preparing to apply for a UK crypto license as part of its strategic push to re-enter the British market. This move comes after years of regulatory friction between Binance and UK authorities.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is set to begin accepting applications on September 30, with the new regulatory regime taking effect on October 25, 2027. To operate in the UK, companies must establish a local base and meet stringent authorization, governance, and compliance standards.

Binance's reported move to establish a local board underscores its commitment to meeting these requirements. The exchange aims to restore its access to the UK market, which was barred from regulated activities in 2021.
