Binance Shein Contract Plunges as IPO Pricing Meets 20x Leverage
Binance has launched a new leveraged perpetual contract tied to Shein, allowing traders to bet on the fast-fashion giant's performance just as its IPO takes shape. The Binance Shein contract offers up to 20x leverage and is available for continuous trading, 24/7.
The launch of the Shein contract marks the latest move by Binance to attach derivatives to traditional assets, following reports that it has begun providing clients with options on over 1,000 US stocks and ETFs. Analysts note that new tradable assets like this often bring a spike in volatility and trading volume.
The perpetual contract works like any other on Binance's Futures platform, allowing traders to hold positions indefinitely as long as margin requirements are met. However, with up to 20x leverage, sharp swings in the underlying asset can wipe out a position entirely.
