Binance Shifts Commodity Perpetual Contracts to 24/5 Trading Hours
Binance, a major cryptocurrency exchange, is making significant changes to its commodity-based TradFi perpetual contracts. Starting from September 15, 2026, at 21:00 UTC, these contracts will trade without a daily one-hour maintenance break.
The new framework will apply to contracts including XAUUSDT for gold, XAGUSDT for silver, XPTUSDT for platinum and XPDUSDT for palladium. It will also cover commodity contracts linked to copper, crude oil, and natural gas, such as COPPERUSDT, CLUSDT, BZUSDT, and NATGASUSDT.
The price index will be updated every second using a weighted average of prices from the underlying constituents provided by third-party data vendors. During weekends and public holidays, Binance will use the Orderbook EWMA mode for calculating the price index.
