Binance Shifts Crypto Balances to Make Room for Stocks
Binance has started migrating non-stock crypto assets from its Funding Accounts into Spot Accounts. The migration began on September 29 and will continue through January 2027.
The move is part of Binance's effort to separate ordinary crypto activity from its growing stock-trading infrastructure.
Non-stock crypto assets held in Funding Accounts, such as Bitcoin, Ether, and other cryptocurrencies, will be moved into Spot Accounts. These accounts are used for buying, selling, and storing a wide range of cryptocurrencies.
Funding Accounts, which will eventually be renamed Stocks Accounts, will primarily be used for settlement of stocks and stock options, along with a limited set of supported settlement assets. These assets include USD, USDC, USDT, U, and BNB.
