Binance Stocks Perpetual Contracts Soar in Trading Volume
Binance is pushing into traditional finance by offering perpetual futures contracts linked to stocks, exchange-traded funds, and commodities.
The exchange saw a significant increase in demand for these contracts, with ten of its top 15 perpetual futures by trading volume now tracking traditional assets.
The strongest performer was the SANDUSDT contract, which tracks semiconductor company SanDisk. It recorded $6.87bn in 24-hour trading volume on Binance as of August 19th.
Binance also claimed that its stock-linked perpetuals accounted for approximately 76% of equity perpetual trading volume across tracked platforms during July.
