Binance CEO Richard Teng confirmed on social media that his exchange aided Indian authorities in a darknet drug trafficking investigation. The collaboration between Binance and India's Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) highlights the use of blockchain analytics to track illicit financial flows.

Teng stated that cryptocurrency is not a friend to criminals, but often provides decisive clues to catch them. He revealed that Binance, together with the Digital Security and Crime Investigation (DSCI) unit, traced on-chain fund flows to assist the NCB in dismantling a darknet drug network.

India's NCB has been intensifying efforts to curb drug trafficking through darknet marketplaces, which often require cryptocurrency for payments. The involvement of a major exchange like Binance provides critical transactional data that can link pseudonymous wallet addresses to real-world identities.
