Binance Suspends Withdrawals Ahead of Base Network Upgrade
Binance has announced its support for the upcoming Base network upgrade and hard fork scheduled for September 30, 2026. The Cobalt upgrade will improve the B20 token standard, introduce validity transactions, and bring dynamic node upgrades to the network.
To ensure a smooth transition, Binance will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals of tokens on the Base network at around 17:00 (UTC) on September 30, 2026. The trading of tokens on the Base network will not be impacted as Binance will handle all technical requirements involved for its users.
The Base network upgrade and hard fork are expected to take place around 18:00 (UTC) on September 30, 2026. Once the upgraded network is deemed stable, deposits and withdrawals for tokens on the Base network will be reopened without a separate announcement.
