Binance Tests Employees Every Month in Radical Anti-Hacker Strategy
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by user base, has adopted an innovative approach to enhance its security measures. Every month, the company's internal ethical hacking unit, known as the Red Team, conducts simulated phishing attacks on its employees.
The goal of these monthly tests is to identify human vulnerabilities in the company's defenses before real hackers exploit them. The scenarios used in these simulations are highly realistic and include fake job offers, fraudulent Zoom updates, and invitations to free conferences.
Employees who fail to detect these phishing attempts undergo mandatory training, and their performance suffers as a result. Binance claims that this approach has significantly improved its security hygiene over the past three to four years.
However, some may argue that this constant pressure could create a culture of excessive distrust among employees, potentially affecting their productivity. Despite this risk, Binance's native token, BNB, remains a major target for hackers due to its large market capitalization and economic significance.
