Binance Tradfi Volume Surges to $433 Billion as Stock Trading Explodes
Binance's tradfi perpetual futures volume has skyrocketed to $433.4 billion in August, marking a 15-fold increase since January. The surge is largely driven by equity-linked contracts, which accounted for 79% of Binance's tradfi perpetual volume during the month.
The expansion was heavily concentrated in equities, with stock-linked perpetual contracts generating $342.9 billion. This represents an astonishing 800 times increase from January's $410.9 million in equity perpetual volume.
Binance is now adding options on over 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs for eligible users outside the United States. The new options service will be provided through Alpaca, which handles execution, settlement, and custody for Binance.
The addition of physically settled stock options marks a significant shift in Binance's expansion into traditional markets. Unlike its equity perpetuals, these options are tied to actual securities, providing users with ownership rights when exercised.
