Binance Updates Crypto Deposit and Withdrawal Rules for Brazilian Users
Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, will implement new procedures for Brazilian users on November 1, 2026. The changes affect crypto deposits and withdrawals, requiring additional information for international transfers in compliance with a central bank resolution. Transfers involving users' own accounts abroad, non-resident individuals or companies, foreign exchanges, and self-custody wallets will need to provide the transfer's purpose and confirm the identity of the sender or beneficiary.
Transfers within Brazil are unaffected by the changes. However, international crypto transfers involving a counterparty not authorized to operate in Brazil's foreign-exchange market will be capped at $100,000 per transaction. This limit may increase to $500,000. Withdrawals missing required information will not be processed, while deposits will remain pending until the necessary details are provided.
The collected information will be reported monthly to the Central Bank of Brazil under Resolution No. 521/2025. The changes address the central bank's foreign-exchange rules for virtual assets and are separate from the Travel Rule. Brazil plans to introduce Travel Rule requirements in stages during 2027 and 2028.
