Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, saw a massive withdrawal of over $3.6bn (£2.7bn) from its platform after it resumed operations following a record-breaking hack last week. The breach impacted $6.3bn worth of digital assets, prompting the exchange to temporarily suspend all transactions. Major entities, including the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), have pointed fingers at North Korea, alleging the country's involvement in the cyber attack, which is reportedly the largest hack in history.

Binance has pledged to cover all losses linked to the attack, stating that it has already recovered around 95% of the stolen assets. However, the remaining amount may take longer to source. The company noted an initial surge in withdrawals, which has since stabilized. In a post on X, Binance confirmed that withdrawals for major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum have resumed, with more services expected to return as security checks are completed.
