Binance Wallet Bolsters Security Amid Bitget Hack Fallout

Binance's wallet product has rolled out new security measures in response to a recent wave of phishing attacks that target DeFi authorization requests. These attacks often don't require gas fees, making it easy for scammers to drain wallets with just one careless signature.

The Bitget hack on September 24, 2026, where an estimated $351.6 million was lost, has raised fresh questions about crypto exchange security. Binance's new protection layer screens for high-risk signing scenarios and can intercept suspicious approvals before they complete.

Users are urged to verify domains, permissions, and addresses before signing anything. Binance plans to expand its risk-identification coverage beyond the current set of scenarios.
