Binance XRP Leverage Hits Multi-Month High Amid Rising Risk
XRP's leverage on Binance has reached its highest level in over seven months, sparking both bullish and bearish implications. According to CryptoQuant data, the XRP estimated leverage ratio on Binance climbed to approximately 0.213, significantly higher than previous levels.
The indicator measures the amount of leverage used relative to exchange reserves, indicating a substantial increase in traders' appetite for risk. Traders are taking on larger positions by using borrowed funds, which can have both positive and negative effects on the market.
A CryptoQuant contributor noted that higher leverage accompanied by rising XRP prices and open interest could signal growing confidence and new positions being opened. However, elevated leverage also makes the market more vulnerable to liquidations.
Currently, XRP is trading at around $1.46, down nearly 3% over the past 24 hours. Open interest stands at roughly $3.62 billion, with Binance accounting for about $2 billion.
