Binance XRP Reserves Hit Record Low Amid Eroding Price
XRP's scarcity index on Binance has dropped to its lowest level since January 2025, according to analytics platform CryptoQuant. This metric measures XRP balances on the exchange relative to historical norms, with high readings indicating a thin supply and low readings signaling a glut of available tokens.
The index has been fluctuating throughout 2026, climbing to around 0.75-0.80 between late April and May, which is typically associated with accumulation behavior where large holders pull XRP off exchanges. However, this trend was short-lived, and the index cratered to about 0.34 by late June.
The latest reading represents another steep decline, landing at its weakest point since early 2025. This comes as Binance's total XRP reserves have been on a longer-term downtrend, dropping roughly 20% from November 2024 and falling to approximately 2.6 billion XRP by mid-2026.
XRP's price has been steadily eroding in 2026, shedding around two-thirds of its value since peaking above $3 during 2025's rally. The current low scarcity reading suggests a reversal within the longer decline, with tokens flowing back onto the exchange at a notable pace.
