Binance's Tokenized Securities See Explosive Growth as New Generation Enters TradFi
Binance has been expanding its reach beyond cryptocurrency into traditional finance (TradFi) with various products, including TradFi perpetual futures contracts, access to U.S. listed stocks, and bStocks, on-chain tokenized securities.
Data from Binance Research shows that users are not limiting themselves to one format, moving freely between the three options. In fact, for 4 in 10 bStock users, it is their first exposure to Binance's TradFi products.
bStocks are becoming a major entry point into equities for a new generation of investors, with 41.5% of users coming through this route alone.
The growth of bStocks can be attributed to several factors, including 24/7 trading, extended accessibility during weekday hours, and the ability to trade on-chain without conversion fees. This has led to significant volume, with $216M in rapid back-to-back trades across bStocks and matching equities from June 11 to July 8.
The data also shows that bStock users are diversifying their portfolios by trading perps, stocks, and tokenized securities under one roof. For example, when SPCX listed its pre-IPO perps, 8.6% of users went on to trade the bStock, against just 0.6% who moved into the direct stock.
This flexibility is allowing users to take advantage of arbitrage opportunities between bStocks and their underlying stocks.
