Binance's Tokenized Stocks Lure New Investors
Binance's tokenized stock product, bStocks, is attracting a significant number of new users to its trading platform. Since launching on June 11, approximately 190,417 users have signed up for bStocks, with 41.5% having zero prior experience with either stocks or perpetual contracts on Binance.
The tokenized equities are functioning as a front door for these users, allowing them to access the stock market without prior knowledge of traditional trading platforms. bStocks is essentially a crypto-native wrapper around real US stocks, backed 1:1 by an actual underlying share held by a custodian.
The initial lineup consists of tech-heavy portfolio staples like Nvidia (NVDAB), Tesla (TSLAB), Circle (CRCLB), Micron (MUB), and Sandisk (SNDKB). Users can convert between bStocks and their underlying traditional shares with zero fees and immediate settlement, or withdraw bStocks as standard BEP-20 tokens to their BNB Smart Chain wallets.
The trading pattern data suggests that 44.5% of bStocks trading volume occurs outside conventional US market hours, indicating a significant demand for around-the-clock trading in tokenized equities.
