BIP-110 Fork Struggles to Compete with Main Bitcoin Chain
A new minority fork of Bitcoin called BIP-110 has emerged but is already struggling to gain traction. Despite its best efforts, it has fallen 18 blocks behind the main chain, highlighting the challenges faced by alternative chains in competing with the dominant network.
The main Bitcoin chain currently stands at block 961,651, while the BIP-110 fork has only managed to produce two blocks, numbers 961,632 and 961,633. This significant gap indicates a lack of sufficient hash power for the minority chain, which operates under the same mining difficulty as the main chain.
CryptoTwitter commentator @WuBlockchain noted that the lagging fork may need substantial changes to remain viable moving forward. Supporter Matthew Kratter also acknowledged the need for massive adjustments to ensure the fork's survival.
