BIS Tests XRP Ledger Prototype for Official Statistical Data Verification
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has tested a prototype using the XRP Ledger Devnet to verify the integrity and origin of official statistical datasets. The system demonstrated median publication latency of 3-5 seconds and verification times of 1-2 seconds in controlled tests.
The BIS researchers recorded cryptographic fingerprints rather than full data on the blockchain, allowing recipients to quickly confirm data authenticity.
This experimental prototype is not intended for production and does not imply BIS endorsement of XRP as an investment. Future development could enhance data privacy and support automated verification by AI.
