BIS Validates XRP Ledger Efficiency with 3-5 Second Transaction Times
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has completed a test of the XRP Ledger, which showed impressive results. The BIS aimed to make official statistics tamper-evident by using blockchain hashes to verify data origin and integrity.
The study addresses a gap in SDMX, the standard used by international institutions to exchange official economic and financial statistics. According to the report, the XRP Ledger's transaction times were between 3-5 seconds during testing.
XRP price rose over 5% to around $1.45 after the news broke. The report has further validated the technical potential of the XRP Ledger for securing and verifying official economic data.
