Robinhood Chain Network Outage Hits Tokenized Stock Trading Amid Market Volatility

Robinhood Chain, a blockchain platform focused on tokenized stock trading, experienced a network outage on September 4, 2026. The issue occurred when block production halted for over 14 minutes, causing disruptions in the network. This came at a time of rapid growth in tokenized equities on Robinhood Chain, with a reported 95% of all tokenized stockholders using three chains: Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, and Solana.

The outage was first reported by news aggregators on social media, where they said that Robinhood Chain's block generation halted. A follow-up update reported that production of blocks has been resumed, but intermittently. Data from the explorers suggested, however, that the network was not yet stable. The cause of the outage remains unknown.

The incident coincided with a downturn in Robinhood Markets stock after strong US jobs data spurred risks of a Fed rate hike. The HOOD stock price dropped by 3.78% during premarket trading.
