Bitcoin Accumulation Surges as $3.3 Billion Leaves Binance
Bitcoin accumulation is on the rise as Binance exchange reserves dropped by nearly 40,000 BTC, worth around $3.3 billion, over just 15 days. The exchange's holdings fell from 704,800 BTC on September 20 to 663,100 BTC, signaling a significant shift in liquidity. This movement comes as BTC consolidates around $85,000, with exchange outflows reaching multi-year highs.
Last week alone, 23,100 BTC left Binance, marking the strongest weekly net outflows since June 2023. Daily outflows have also surged, with nearly 14,300 BTC exiting the exchange in the latest incomplete reading. Analyst Darkfost noted on X that the accumulation trend is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore, despite circulating rumors of an impending BTC crash.
Exchange netflows are closely watched for insights into market behavior. The current outflow pattern mirrors a period in 2023 when Bitcoin was recovering from a bear market. However, past performance does not guarantee future results, and outflows alone do not ensure a price increase. The reduction in exchange-held supply and continued withdrawals could support a move out of the current consolidation range, potentially strengthening the price floor.
While the data suggests long-term holding behavior, it does not guarantee a rally. The fading presence of sellers and the accumulation trend create a setup where reduced exchange-held supply could support a breakout from the current price range. For now, Bitcoin remains in a consolidation phase near $85,000, with the potential for further accumulation-driven price movements.
