Bitcoin Adoption to Continue Through Banks Amid CLARITY Act Setback
Michael Saylor remains optimistic about Bitcoin's institutional adoption despite the failure of the CLARITY Act in the US Senate. The Strategy executive chairman believes that regulators will continue to move forward with crypto rules, while traditional banks increasingly enter the market.
In a recent statement, Saylor reiterated his position: 'The only clarity you need is Bitcoin.' He argues that Bitcoin has already had legal and regulatory clarity in the US for years.
The CLARITY Act failed to advance due to a 49-50 procedural vote, short of the required 60 votes. However, SEC Chair Paul Atkins stated before the vote that the agency intends to continue its crypto rulemaking, prioritizing areas such as crypto issuance, custody, and transfer-agent modernization.
Saylor's focus is on banking, where he sees a shift towards integrating digital assets into traditional financial services. Regulatory developments are focused on establishing rules around custody, trading, and credit products.
