Bitcoin Advocates Clash Over Cycle Bottom

Bitcoin advocate Samson Mow believes the bottom of the current market cycle has already been reached. He points to a shift in the traditional four-year halving cycle, citing that Bitcoin's all-time high was reached just 37 days before the April 2024 halving.

This accelerated cycle, according to Mow, means the market is moving faster than expected. However, not everyone agrees with this assessment.

Several analysts believe Bitcoin still has further to fall, citing different indicators and models to support their views. Omkar Godbole points to a historically accurate contrarian indicator based on Bitcoin's 50-week and 100-week simple moving averages, which some see as a bear cross that has coincided with past market bottoms.

Analysts like Markus Thielen, James Van Straten, and Arthur Hayes have predicted different price targets for the bottom of the cycle: $55,000 by August or October, 15% lower than current prices, and around $40,000 within six months, respectively.
