Bitcoin Analyst Sees Rally Potential After 2026 US Midterm Elections
A recent analysis by Joao Wedson suggests that Bitcoin's price could rally after the 2026 US midterm elections. According to historical patterns, Bitcoin tends to enter a bear market approximately one year before each legislative election, followed by a prolonged bull market.
Wedson points out that during completed midterm cycles since 2014, Bitcoin dropped an average of 56%, only to regain ground once political uncertainty faded. In contrast, the asset experienced marked increases following presidential elections, with sharp rallies following candidates' victories.
The analysis warns about exercising caution when interpreting recent market readings, as a single price rally does not guarantee a structural shift in the trend. To confirm a cycle transition toward a bullish phase, clear signals of capitulation, operational deleveraging, and the influx of new capital from short-term investors are required.
The macroeconomic context and Federal Reserve's monetary policy continue to influence the digital market's evolution. With Bitcoin hovering near $64,000, nearly 50% away from its all-time high of $126,000 recorded in October 2025, analysts will be closely monitoring the market's behavior leading up to the election.
