Bitcoin at $1 Million vs XRP at $10: Which Is More Likely?
Bitcoin and XRP are two cryptocurrencies vying for round-number price targets. Bitcoin needs to increase by about 12 times its current value to reach $1 million, while XRP only needs a 6.5-fold price jump to hit $10.
Achieving these goals would have significant market cap implications. If Bitcoin reaches $1 million, its market capitalization would soar to nearly seven times the total crypto market value, currently around $2.9 trillion. This is equivalent to about $20.1 trillion in market cap, a staggering figure compared to Bitcoin's current market cap of approximately $1.7 trillion.
XRP's price goal, on the other hand, can fit within the existing market size, but it still requires substantial market share gains. If XRP reaches $10 per token, its market cap would increase to about $629 billion, nearly double Ethereum's current valuation of around $330 billion.
The authors believe that XRP reaching $10 is more achievable than Bitcoin hitting $1 million, as the former requires a smaller price increase and a market cap within the current market size. However, both targets are unlikely to be hit before 2027, with XRP needing to recover to its previous opening price of approximately $1.84 in 2026.
